"Jefferson County Schools before 1950" by the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association, 1977. A history of all public school buildings in Jefferson County prior to reorganization in 1950. Includes hand-drawn maps showing locations of school buildings in the county from approximately 1870-1950, brief descriptions of how the buildings got their names, and biographical information on early educators in the county. Covers Arvada, Golden, Mountain, Lakewood, Morrison-Bear Creek, and Wheat Ridge area schools. (Velobound copy.)

Lists brief histories of educational facilities in Jefferson County including dates built and location, and also histories of some towns. Covers the Golden, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Edgewater-Mountair, Bear Creek, Alameda, Evergreen, Mountain and Canyon, and North and West of Arvada areas. (Typed manuscript and copies.)

Research notes for Mr. Abbott's manuscript as well as a list of the school districts that existed at the date of reorganization (1950) that gives school district number, school district name, 1949 total assessed valuation, enrollment numbers, and name of president or proxy.
