Scope and Contents
Scrapbook containing inventory of land and buildings owned by Jefferson County. Beginning pages list code classification inventory number, description, location, year built, original cost and legal description of property. Following pages contain name and address of each building, photograph, year built with original cost and legal description of property. Photos include: Airport Buildings (1960-70); Branch Libraries (1968-71); Courthouse (1952); Dog Pound (1967); Fairgrounds and Engineering Complex Buildings (1952-68); Hall of Justice (1966); Health Department (1961); Lookout Mountain Properties (1970); Reno Drive Warehouse (1925); Sheriff's Office, Dwelling, and Jail (1958); Shops, Garages, and Storage Buildings (1939-71); and Youth Center (1970).
This scrapbook was compiled by Kelly Turnwall, Jefferson County Personnel Director, in 1970 as an aid for the County Commissioners. An article about the scrapbook was published in the Golden Transcript October 29, 1970.

Scrapbook/photo album was found on shelves in Courthouse storage with no documentation for either Records Management or Archives. Records Management gave it to Archives because of its historical significance.
Scrapbook binding was falling apart and had been taped together many times. The pages were removed and stored in box.
